Introduction

My Blog is on Chapter 13, World War I. World War I was a major conflict fought in Europe and around the world from June 28, 1914 to November 11, 1918. The war was fought by two main powers, the allied powers and the central powers. The allied powers consisted of Great Britain, France, Russia, and Italy. The Central powers consisted of Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria, and the Ottoman Empire. It all began on June 28, 1914 when Austrian-Hungarian Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated by a Serbian activist, Gavrillo Princip. They declared war on Serbia on July 28, 1914. Russia supported Serbia, so Germany declared war on Russia. France and Britain then declared war on Germany. On November 11, 1918, Germany signed an Armistice. Each of the defeated nations signed a treaty, most important The Treaty of Versailles, which was signed with Germany. Across Europe, 55 troops had been mobilised, over 8 million had died, and over 29 million were injured. Through this blog, i hope to educate people on the war, and things that were happening at the time of the war.
