3 Newsworthy people

On June 28, 1914, The Archduke Franz Ferdinand and wife were assassinated. They were killed in Sarajevo by a terrorist group called the Black Hand. Two attempts were made, the first being a bomb thrown at the car, but they escaped unharmed. Then the second being the shooting that ended their live. The Archduke was the nephew of the emperor to the throne, and his wife was the the Duchess of Hohenberg.






On July 17, 1918, Nicholas II and his wife were executed. Nicholas II was the last Czar of Russia, Grand Duke of Finland, and titular King of Poland. On this night, the family was woken, by the Bolshevik's at about 2:00 a.m, and taken to the basement at the back of the Ipatiev house. A firing squad was assembled, and ready to kill them. The were shot and stabbed with bayonets several times.

On April 24, 1915 hundreds of Armenian leaders were murdered in Istanbul after being summoned and gathered. Then the death of the Armenian people followed. Burning, suffocation, poisons and overdoses all contributed to the death of the people. It is estimated that up to a million and a half Armenians were killed.
